One Tower Bridge the Ultimate Riverside Dining and Culture Experience in London

I was one of the lucky ones back in 2010 to be invited to the VIP launch of One Tower Bridge, it was a wonderful night and we was treated to the red carpet experience. I remember seeing the plans of what the future held for ‘One Tower Bridge’ the concept ‘work live.’ This premium London location offers the ultimate riverside dining and cultural destination, located with stunning views of the River Thames and a breath-taking view of the iconic ‘ Tower Bridge.’ The streets are pedestrianized with modern piazzas, a mix of brand new and unique eateries and for the theatregoers a contemporary new theatre, The Bridge Theatre.

One Tower Bridge is home to many exciting restaurants each offering a unique dining experience; The Ivy Tower Bridge, The Coal Shed, Tom Simmons, By CHLOE, Prosecco House, Rosa’s Thai Cafe, Gunpowder, Vapiano and Temakinko. I immediately planned a food Safari to indulge in what ‘One Tower Bridge’ has to offer-reservations been made.

History of Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge has been around since 1894 created to ease the growing traffic congestion in London at the time. A royal assent for the new bridge was granted in 1885, and the now named ‘City of London Corporation’ launched a design competition. The winner was architect and surveyor Horace Jones. The history of the development we know and love dates back 2,000 years, which is part of the ancient pool of London. Now we look to the future… ‘One Tower Bridge’ marks one of the most upscale address in London, it’s delightful to see the amazing transformation of ‘One Tower Bridge’.

Their menu is the perfect daily offering of rare breed cuts and for our fish lovers fresh fish from the South coast boats 6 days a week. Don’t worry if you have a last minute reservation The Coal Shed is set over two floors, if you are in the main restaurant you are able to watch the chefs serenade you whilst they prepare a feast-the perfect back drop to a glamorous night.

Prosecco House is London’s first bar dedicated to the bubbles we know whose origins are from family-owned vineyards in Italy. Fact! Prosecco House has over 20 different proseccos which can not be found anywhere else in London be part of one of One Tower Bridges best kept secrets!

A US export by Chloe has firmly positioned themselves at the foot of Tower Bridge by Chloe offers plenty tasty, wholesome and affordable plant-based food breakfast, lunch and dinner with take out as an option.

Rosa’s Thai Cafe serves authentic Thai dishes. Rosa’s Thai Cafe started out as a weekly stall on Brick Lane market staying true its roots still now serves up fresh flavours in a friendly cafe style atmosphere.

Gunpowder the brainchild of Chef Nirmal Save brought a new flair to the menu whilst keeping the modern taken on Indian home-style cooking.

Custard is an Indian inspired bakery, which offers mouth-watering savouries, pastries and sandwiches with Indian and European influences.

Vapiano a place to try authentic fresh Italian food In a laid back environment over good conversation, handmade pasta, freshly made pizza dough and salads alongside the best buffalo mozzarella meats and cheese.

Coming in 2019 this Japanese-Brazilian fusion restaurant Temakinho the restaurant places its emphasis on using sustainable produce, which have given it the ‘ friends of the sea’ status, the first in London.

The Bridge Theatre brings the cultural experience to One Tower Bridge development founded by Nicholas Hytner and Nick Starr the Bridge Theatre is a new 900-seat for that theatre goer with comfort, style and a breath-taking lobby lit with captivating hanging lights. The offering at the bridge is a combination of new screenplay production and occasional classic shows. The Bridge Theatre also offers tantalising food from the legendary restaurant St John.

One Tower Bridge Experience

Stepping out of a Taxi on an early evening was the perfect backdrop for my food safari at One Tower Bridge. I took a look at the menus for the restaurants I wished to experience; I knew I was in for a treat. I had driven over Tower Bridge too many times to mention so to be honest this was the first time I really appreciated my surrounding. I walked down the steps to Duchess Walk and was mesmerised by the view of the Tower Bridge, wow you have to see it to truly appreciate its grandeur. First stop sharing plates at Gunpowder.

Starter at Gunpowder

Known for its modern twist on Indian home-style cooking. Gunpowder has a modern warehouse feel perfect for a business lunch or dinner. A choice to catch up with friends or loved ones. The starter choice was Chicken Lollipop Madras style authentic and tasty, Nagaland house crispy pork ribs with tamarind melted off the bone with a taste to savour. Karwari soft shell crabs a delightful taste experience. We were recommended their signature cocktails Pani Puri margaritas Tamarind spiced water, Tequila, Cointreau and Spiced Rum tasted like an exotic holiday and Gunpowder Regiment a truly signature drink infusion of Indian Rum, Lime juice and Masala Coke my palate was well and truly opened. Next stop Rosa’s Thai Cafe!

Dinner at Rosa’s Thai Cafe

We were greeted by the waiter and given recommendations for food and cocktails. The mood was relaxed cafe style, lots going on, a great mix of culture and ages in the Cafe. We chose Mango and Lychee Iced Tea ‘Long You Long Time! For our cocktail which made me smile… Rosa’s take on a classic Long Island iced, made with mango and lychee iced tea infused with Ketel One Vodka and Aromatic Asian botanical sours. It was lovely! Refreshing and tasty. For our mains it took a little while to decide they all sounded delicious. Chicken and Cashew nuts ‘gai pad metmamuang Stir-fried chicken with dried roasted chillies and mushroom with Rosa’s own stir-fry sauce-simply delicious. Stir- Fried Beef Black Pepper Sauce classic dish with steamed coconut rice is your mouth watering yet? We chose the Rose Wine to accompany our dinner, Pinot Grigio. A special treat offered by Rosa’s is every Sunday, the restaurant puts on a full sharing roast, and complete with all the trimmings I know where I will be next Sunday! Final stop was The Ivy Tower Bridge for dessert placed with views of the most Iconic landmarks in London ‘Tower Bridge.’

The Ivy Tower Bridge is without the question luxury fine dining at its best with Interiors designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. The views are simply breath-taking a real treat to sit with floor to ceiling glass windows and overlook the River Thames and the Iconic Tower of London. The ambience was calming, low level lights, candles on the table, low level music. A perfect place for a date night, a special occasion or with friends and family. The waiter brought out a glass of the finest we know and love Champagne! The evening was simply amazing we decided to share a desert called Chocolate Bombe, melting chocolate Bombe with a vanilla ice cream and honeycomb centre with hot salted caramel sauce, I was literally in heaven!

The conclusion

The One Tower Bridge experience was as expected first class. The restaurants I dined in all had something special and unique to offer for every taste. The most amazing atmosphere, attentive and knowledgeable staff and food cooked to perfection.

One Tower Bridge is a unique hidden gem, which offers a premium experience, it is the perfect place to discover new and exciting restaurants, experience a theatre production and walk along The River Thames and be marvelled by the great landmark in all its glory Tower Bridge. Tantalise the taste buds from the many options available in The One Tower Bridge to suite any visitors taste. Don’t delay! I have already booked The Ivy Tower Bridge to have this experience all over again.
