We were greeted by the non-intrusive host and given recommendations for food and wine. The Jones Family Affair offers an extensive wine list by country perfect for the wine connoisseurs and a themed cocktail list.

Ready to order we decided on our food choices. We chose our nibbles and starters: Flatbread & dips Basil pesto, shrimp cocktail, roasted cherry tomato, me and my guest were fighting to dip first, Succulent pan-fried scallop, Pickled cucumber, lime mayo, croutons, melt in your mouth. Heritage Beetroot Salad, Lamb’s leaf, goat’s cheese mousse, honey & orange dressing, tasty. The mains: Whole Poussin Green Tabasco & coriander butter marinade, mixed leaf & vegetable salad, seasoned and tender, Meatless Burger, Plant-based patty, vegan ‘brioche’ bun, sriracha mayonnaise, tomato, iceberg, sesame pickle, fries, vegan and vegetarian friendly yummy. Sides: True Macaroni Cheese, True Fries, food heaven.

We were so excited to try the themed cocktails and they did not disappoint; for the Lo or No alcohol we tried Pink Garden; Ceder’s Crisp non-alc spirit, strawberry, lime, basil, ginger ale, and sugar; Bubble & Squeak Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Passion fruit liqueur, orgeat, lime, and Prosecco; Apple Bellini, Prosecco, homemade apple puree, apple juice, Briottet apple liqueur and lastly a Pear and Lavender silent pool. The cocktails were beautiful in design and delicious.

A stone throw from Marylebone in the heart of exquisite central London sits the 5-star iconic hotel, The Langham. The Langham is in a perfect location to relax after exploring all that Oxford Street has on offer. Stepping into The Langham hotel you can instantly feel a sense of British quintessential luxury. We were greeted by a friendly and welcoming host who explained the afternoon tea menu options in detail the mood was just right. The host brought out two perfectly chilled glasses of Perrier-Jouet. The afternoon tea was served on the finest Wedgwood china; the exquisite pastries inspired by the Wedgwood collections Wow! The background music was beautiful melodies from a Grand Piano playing both classic and contemporary pieces a great touch and helped to create total nostalgia. 

The tea options; The Langham Blend, a sophisticated blend of Second Flush Indian Assam for a malty flavour, first flush Indian Darjeeling; the ‘Champagne’ of teas with delicate muscatel charm and seasonal Uva High Grown Sri Lankan for a light, citrus character. Vanilla Rooibos, South African infusions, caffeine-free and full of flavour.

The savoury selection; A selection of the most indulgent finger sandwiches, Burford brown egg, preserved tomato, mustard cress in brioche, peppered roast ham, hispi cabbage coleslaw, pickled walnut on walnut bread, Atlantic prawn ‘Bois boudran’ hass avocado on a seeded bun, smoked chicken and Mimolette ‘Caesar,’ on granary bread, classic cucumber and cream cheese on white bread-simply heavenly. The Sweet selection was so delicious; light raspberry sponge rolled with raspberry confit and jasmine cream, caramelised puff pastry, coffee, pecan and chocolate, blackcurrant sorbet, green apple compote, skyr and maple and almond sable, sollies figs and star anise all sections are available in gluten-free options. An afternoon tea experience of pure class and refinery!

Lincoln Plaza London offers both comfort and style; the guest’s rooms contain a Hilton Serenity bed, complimentary Wi-Fi, water, locally sourced toiletries and the most amazing art pieces all around the hotel. If you are feeling hungry there is no need to leave the hotel they offer a variety of dining options, including a signature Pan-Indian restaurant by Chef Cyrus Todiwala, whose approach to sustainable food and the use of local ingredients fits with the ethos of the hotel. A social space for all-day dining options is The Lobby Bar, Food Store Restaurant Bar & Grocer and a naval inspired cocktail bar called Jack Speak Bar and Terrace with the most desired cocktail collection, premium spirits and amazing wines.

My Lincoln Plaza London experience

The invitation to discover Lincoln Plaza London came with sheer Joy. I was excited to stay in a hotel known for comfort and style, and with their very own grocery store, very unique! I have stayed at many hotels over the years but this particular hotel had it’s own individual charm, very modern, open spaced with a perfect amount of light throughout. Set in the business district of Canary Wharf, it was easy to find, a short walk from South Quay. Lincoln Plaza London is in the perfect location, within reach of the famous O2 Arena, Excel Exhibition and 15 mines from Central London, the perfect location for a memorable stay-action or a worldwide traveller.

Upon arrival I walked through large revolving doors. The decor is modern, and warm engaging staff provided a chilled atmosphere. The front desk and concierge checked me in and showed me to the lift.

The Room

The décor was modern and luxurious grey and white accents and the most comfortable beds, bedding supplied by Kings of Cotton, I slept like a baby…. gold accent featured wallpaper and oak wood furniture and to unwind a large HDTV. The room had other subtle decorative features, which added to the hotels charm, I was ready for a relaxing short break.

The bathroom was stylish hidden behind a heavy Japanese style door. The rainfall shower is my favourite, a true delight. There were also gorgeous complimentary toiletries, white fluffy robes and crisp white towels, I couldn’t wait to try.

Dinner at the award winning Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen

Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen is an exciting restaurant an opportunity to savour his signature Pan-Indian specialities. Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen offers authentic Indian street food inspired by Chef Cyrus Todiwala heritage and the menu is the perfect blend of the old and the new, beautifully presented dishes with flavour.

On arrival the first thing that I noticed was the décor the double height dining room and the beautiful hues of colours bright blues, oranges and reds. In keeping with tradition fans created in the most delightful Indian silks. The magic was unfolded by the vibrant hanging display of highly polished coppers pots, and shelves full of Indian artefacts, all while guarded by a huge elephant, amazing! The host was well versed on the Indian culinary cuisine so assisted us with the choices on the menu, and explained them all in detail. I saved myself the whole day for this experience and made sure I wore something that doesn’t involve a top button!

First things first, the wonderful host offered us a chilled glass of Prosesco we accepted graciously, it was perfect! Taste buds tantalised with a fantastic collection of Poppadum’s with a selection of the most flavoursome Mr Todiwala’s chutneys, mango and mint also on sale at the Deli Counter in the Lobby. We decided to pick our selection of starters and mains, our choices were; Onion bhajee, Tadka Daal, Spicy Potato, Cholay Paneer, Samosa beetroot and coconut, Cheese Tandoori, Tandoori Tikka Platter; Chicken Salmon and Duck taster plate my taste buds literally exploded it tasted so good! Lamb shank served pulao and chunks of fried potato melted off the bone, Tandoori Chicken Curry served with a selection of Naan’s, Peshawari Naan stuffed with a blend of ground almonds, raisins, coconut and cream and Cheese and chilli Naan, stuffed with chopped green chilli and garlic- I bet your mouth is watering! The menu choices were without question very filling and my taste buds have never experienced anything like it! The host insisted on us trying their homemade selection of Indian desserts. The ice creams selection was pistachio, strawberry and chocolate, my tummy could hold no more food, and I was well and truly full…

Breakfast in the Food Store Bar Restaurant and Grocer

They say eat a breakfast like a King and we did exactly that the next morning. The restaurant décor was reminiscent of an English countryside with accents of orange, apricot and duck egg, my favourite, comfortable duck egg colour corner sofas and wooden table and chairs. The restaurant was adorned with lovely bright plants, adding to the countryside theme. The host served us with freshly squeezed cranberry and grapefruit juice. We opted for the Full English Breakfast and it did not disappoint Cumberland sausage, streaky bacon, and Portobello mushroom, roast plum tomato, Heinz baked beans and scrabbled eggs. Even more special was the serving of fresh mint tea and world famous earl grey.

Wimbledon Afternoon Tea

In celebration of the summer season the hotel offers an amazing Wimbledon Afternoon Tea menu-excuse the pun was definitely game, set and match! Imagine sitting on a freshly cut lawn with the aroma of beautiful flowers with a chilled glass of Pimms; this was exactly what the afternoon tea experience. The host was very friendly and professional and talked through the afternoon tea menu. Pure excitement when our host brought out the most beautifully presented afternoon tea served on a bed of grass; freshly cut sandwiches of salmon, cucumber and chicken, delightfully delicious. The most exquisite delicate cakes, a chilled jug of Pimms, a cocktail called Kiss My Ace! This made me giggle and scones with cream and sweet strawberry Jam, the perfect end to a fantastic stay at Lincoln Plaza London.

Conclusion

Lincoln Plaza London Curio Collection By Hilton should be definitely on the list for a trip to London. The perfect escape for couples, friends, family and travellers to experience a hotel with modern and contemporary features. The Food Store Restaurant and Bar offers a unique grocer store offering a selection of produce used on the menu, which are available to purchase from the store. Embark on a gastronomic Indian experience dining at the award-winning restaurant Mr. Todiwala’s Kitchen. Discover exclusive cocktails and premium spirits at the Navy inspired plush bar, where you can relax on the terrace; it’s the perfect escape after a long day discovering London. My Apex Temple Court experience

The invitation to stay at Apex Temple Court Hotel came with curiosity as all of the hype said that this particular hotel is very insta-worthy, so selfie stick in hand I went to investigate and could instantly see why! On arrival at the bottom of a grand courtyard is a giant bright green elephant! Walking into the reception felt like an animation movie set, neon-orange, and white Corian. Unafraid textiles, striking red gloss walls, modern and contemporary, it was easy to find, a short walk from The Strand in the perfect location to all the Central London attractions, ideal for a memorable stay-cation or a worldwide traveller.

The Room

Set within a Grade II listed building on the capital’s Fleet Street, dating back to 1912, the Temple and Grande Suites sit alongside ‘The Amicable Society of Lazy Ballerinas’, we were booked to stay in the Grand Suite, the décor was modern and luxurious. It includes original fireplaces, bespoke furnishings in rich jewel tones, luxury linens and a stunning bathroom, complete with under floor heating. Little touches like complimentary Temple Spa products, a Nespresso coffee machine, fluffy bathrobes and slippers, as a music connoisseur the Bang and Olufsen Bluetooth speakers were a real treat, feeling extra special tearing myself from my new stylish pad we got ready to drink and dine at The Amicable Society of Lazy Ballerinas.

Fine Wine and Small plates at The Amicable Society of Lazy Ballerinas

The Amicable Society of Lazy Ballerinas is a new exciting bar and restaurant with a world of new and old wines, the décor rich and opulent, marble, brass accents, teal velvet-clad booths and the most stunning marble top bar. The Society’s small plates are perfect for sharing, visually perfect and simply delicious. The wines on offer span 12 countries and for the wine connoisseur why not book a private wine master class. Weather permitting they have ‘The Secret Garden’, where guests can enjoy the pretty courtyard, while be served most amazing wines. The Secret Garden is an escape from chaotic city life, a calm luxurious space to soak up the sun whilst checking out the bespoke menu.

Stepping inside the bar my first impression was how stunning it was, opulent but a little quirky. The décor rich and reminiscent of a Roman empire with Michelangelo inspired paintings on the high ceilings. Floor to ceiling mirrors, and for the wine connoisseur a wonderful open cabinet, displaying old and new wines – just take your pick!

The host told us the story of what makes the Amicable Society of Lazy Ballerinas so special. The Amicable Society of Lazy Ballerinas has an amazing carefully curated wine list, so we were spoilt for choice. The host recommended the following wines and we were not disappointed. Sauvignon Blanc, Yealands Estate, Marlborough, New Zealand 2018 pale lemon in colour, this wine offers lifted aromas of citrus blossom. Comtes de Provence La Vidaubanaise, Provence, France 2018, classic light rosé colour with bright aromas of wild strawberries.

We were served a customary breadboard with whipped butter and smoked salt, our taste buds were ready to explore this fabulous start to our dining experience, we checked out the small plates menu to accompany this perfect wine experience. The food choices were; Octopus sweet potato mash and smoked paprika, simply melted in the mouth and a visual delight. Pulled pork and apple croquettes, chargrilled sweet corn and corn purée, tender and delicious. Hot picks from the menu; Goats cheese pannacotta roasted peach, sugared walnuts and raspberry purée (Vegan) friendly, hand-picked crab herb mayonnaise, melba toast, my taste buds were extremely happy. The menu offers a chance for guests to build their own cheese and charcuterie board, with a delicious selection of cheese and charcuterie from all around the world, we particularly like the sound of Le Fin Normand Camembert from France and the Salsiccia Cinghiale, pork and wild boar from Italy. The small plates were delicious and beautifully presented. We were impressed with the wine list, it featured amazing choices from all around the world, exotic, organic and biodynamic and they are investing in the future of sustainable winemaking

We can’t forget the dessert choice, Heaven on a plate! Lazy mess Chantilly cream, rosemary meringue, City of London Gin infused summer berries; it tasted exactly how it sounded. The Amicable Society of Lazy Ballerinas provides a fantastic venue for friends, loved ones or business colleagues to relax.

Apex Temple Court Hotel is an Instagram dream, luxurious, modern and the perfect location to take in all of London’s major attractions. Apex Temple Court Hotel is the perfect place for couples, friends, family, and travellers to experience a hotel, which is modern and chic in design. The Hotel

The boutique-style hotel has 57 rooms and is set in a beautiful Edwardian building overlooking the iconic Strand. Nadler Covent Garden is situated in the perfect location to enjoy all that Central London has to offer.

First impressions of the hotel were good. The décor is of a modern, contemporary feel. The rooms are furnished with handmade locally furniture with luxurious fabrics woven on the isle of Bute, Scotland. For the fashion lovers among you, every room includes a special edition Paul Smith Anglepoise lamp, paying homage to English fashion heritage.

The hotel has a chilled and relaxed feel, and provides the perfect quick getaway for business or pleasure in the heart of London.

We were greeted warmly upon arrival as they expected us! Guest liaison informed us we had been booked into a superior suite. The allocated room was self-contained and luxurious. A signature in-room mini kitchen, spacious en-suite bathroom with waterfall style shower that I couldn’t wait to try and the luxurious Gilchrist and Soames toiletries provided urban luxury.

Dinner at Jidori Covent Garden

Jidori is a Yakitori restaurant, which takes its name from the special breed of free-range chickens renowned for their robust flavour and impeccable freshness in Japan. Staying true to their organic ethos they use the freshest free-range birds, delivered directly from Yorkshire. Jidori pride themselves on sourcing the freshest produce where possible, local ingredients and regularly changing specials. Jidori has a fun and vibrant atmosphere. The food is prepared in their custom made Kama-Asa Shoten grills, sourced directly from Tokyo, authenticity at its best. The décor consisted of beautiful pastels with gold accents.

We were greeted by our host for the night and given recommendations for food and cocktails. Jidori offers a great selection of non-traditional cocktails. We had worked up an appetite during the day exploring Covent Garden, so were eager to order.

Our cocktail choices were; Tomu Margarita Tequila mescal, yuzu agave and Akita Kokoro gin, Misty Mountain sake, elderflower, ginger ninja Beefeater gin, fresh ginger juice yuzu, Asahi beer Taspo Kentucky bourbon umeshu, orange bitters, green tea syrup, green mache, and red Aperol spritz; all were very exotic with a powerful fusion of flavours.

Our small plates choices were; Avocado and sesame salad, with cabbage and seaweed and yuzu and sesame dressing, Gyoza vegetable dumplings with black vinegar Karaage, deep-fried sake and ginger marinated chicken wings, steamed rice and mushroom and garlic rice, Negima skin on chicken thigh and spring onion, Tebasaki wing’s, miso and coriander and Miso glazed aubergine, all beautifully presented and the dishes were delicious. We shared our dessert, as we were extremely full, we chose ice cream sweet potato chips, our taste buds overloaded with of all the most perfect textures and flavours.

The conclusion

The Jidori experience was fabulous. Great atmosphere, attentive and knowledgeable host, and food cooked to perfection. Jidori is a perfect choice for a truly unique Japanese experience pre-theatre dinner and drinks or a great meal when visiting London.

A stone throw from Gloucester Road or South Kensington sits The Gore Hotel. The Gore Hotel launched a Rock ‘n’ Roll inspired Afternoon Tea in partnership with the luxury event planners La Fête. La Fête has history, working in luxury fashion for eight years for Dior and Tom Ford, amongst other brands creating experiences that make the impossible possible. The Rock ‘N’ Roll Afternoon Tea pays homage to the legendary artists from the popular music genre including The Rolling Stones, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Queen and David Bowie and many others. The Gore has a special connection with the rock stars as it was chosen by the Rolling Stones in 1968 to host their launch party for their Beggars Banquet album, an event which the décor of The Gore’s Bar 190 to this day still pays homage to.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Afternoon Tea Experience

If you think afternoon tea is only for ladies that lunch or high society! You can think again! Finely cut sandwiches – without crusts and jam-filled scones are so on-trend – have afternoon tea like a Rock Star! The location of The Gore is very fitting for the afternoon tea experience, the area is home to the famous V&A which is bursting with iconic fashion and dazzling red carpet events in all its grandeur of the Royal Albert Hall. The Gore Hotel is in a perfect location to relax after exploring all that Queen’s Gate has on offer. Stepping into to 190 Queen’s Gate restaurant you can instantly feel a sense of British luxury with rock-style chic; plush blood red and cream décor, booster cushions and butterfly decorations in glass cases decorate the bar area. The restaurant features a large crystal chandelier in the centre of the room adding to the rock & rock vibe – pure drama. The mahogany wood table and chairs add to the luxurious theme of decadence and splendour. High ceilings with elaborate designs perfectly set the scene for the Rock ‘n’ Rock experience. Rock ‘n’ Roll Afternoon Tea would be perfect for creative lovers to rediscover the story of the Rock ‘n’ Roll era, impress your loved one’s family or friends and recreate your very own Rock ‘n’ Roll experience.

We were greeted by a friendly and welcoming host who explained the afternoon tea menu options in detail and the stories connected. The curators of the Rock ‘n’ Roll afternoon did a splendid job, mini records as coasters, a mini drum-kit American and British themed. The afternoon tea was served on an imitation record deck; the cakes were garnished with miniature guitars. It was a shame to eat such an amazing creation but they tasted just as good as they looked – Wow! The background music was rock ‘n’ roll-inspired which was a great touch and helped to create total nostalgia. The tea options; Afternoon Tea is also known as the ‘High Noon Tea’, it has a particularly lovely aromatic flowery taste and is blended with long leaf teas from Darjeeling and Ceylon, it is ideal with scones and cakes. Chamomile Tea is widely enjoyed and is widely used as an aid to calming nerves and relieving pain in the digestive system.

The savoury selection; The Woodstock Chipolata hot dog – so yummy as was the ‘Popping’ Stones Paprika popcorn giving homage to the legendary Rolling Stones and their link to The Gore Hotel. Queens of Noise – Smoked salmon sandwich, chilli and avocado sandwich paying tribute to the boundary-breaking 1970s all-female band, The Runaways. The Sweet selection was so delicious; Macaroons and Goodbye Ziggy – Lightning bolt chocolate cake referring to 1973 when David Bowie killed his Ziggy Stardust character in favour of his lightning bolt – sporting Aladdin Sane persona The Lizard King – ‘Pint’ of mango and chocolate mousse homage to The Doors’ frontman Jim Morrison’s alter ego and particularly, Bobby Klein’s 1967 photograph of Morrison having a beer for breakfast, Whisky A Go-Go – was a mini Madeleine presented with a whiskey ganache and chocolate heart a tribute to Sunset Boulevard’s nightclub of the same name, which has held a key place in rock ‘n’ roll history since its opening in 1964 Sweet ‘Choux’ O’ Mine –  Choux pastry filled with raspberry cream and topped with a chocolate guitarist paying homage to Guns N’ Roses’ 1988 hit track Sweet Child O’ Mine, another artistic creation was Under Pressure,  selection of sultana and vanilla scones referring to Queen and David Bowie’s iconic pairing on the 1981 hit song. A drumroll and round of applauds go to the Rock ’n’ Roll afternoon tea experience amazing!

The Gore Hotel highlights

Pop into the Bar 190 to immerse you into the rock ‘n’ roll vibe. Bar 190 is best known as the location for the launch and photo-shoot for The Rolling Stones’ 1968 album Beggars Banquet, and the décor pays tribute to this event. Bar 190 serves an extensive range of spirits, whiskies and rums. Carefully curated cocktails but also extending from classics – such as Martini and Negroni – to a range of gin and tonics based on botanical and citrus infusions.

The creation of The Gore’s very own Michelin Star chef Daniel has produced dishes that are contemporary classics, prepared and presented in a captivatingly modern way. Daniel has created a unique menu showcasing his authentic French cuisine with a British twist including locally sourced ingredients. He is a regular guest chef on BBC 1’s Saturday Kitchen so tune in!

Finding this Oasis called Connaught Village was just what I needed, I prefer being able to shop in a calm and relaxed environment. The next step was to plan my overnight visit to Connaught Village so I could discover further what this shopping Oasis had to offer. I booked to stay in the 5 stars Royal Lancaster London, just a short 15 min walk from Marble Arch.  I decided that such a unique and traditional setting requires a dining experience of that nature, so I made a reservation at Casa Malevo the menu features traditional Cocina Argentina dishes.

Hidden behind Georgian Squares on a bright but crisp Saturday afternoon I found Connaught Village and the first thing that struck me was how peaceful the Village is. I always enjoy exploring something new and elegant… the time will pass you by. Connaught Village is a breath of fresh air to a shopping experience you can take your time and enjoy. I had never walked through Connaught Village before so it was exciting that I was discovering something new.

The Hotel

Royal Lancaster London in celebration of its 50th anniversary relaunched in 2017 following a mind blowing £85 million renovation. This renovation meant a complete refurbishment of all 411 rooms and suites, plus a brand new grand showpiece entrance and lobby. The most amazing feature is a splendid sweeping staircase, created from 300 square meters of white Carrara marble, a stairway of luxury at its very finest. The new guest rooms are beautifully designed with comfort and style in mind. The most amazing features of Royal Lancaster London are the breath-taking views from some of guest rooms across the London Skyline.

Opened in 1967 and one of the most iconic hotels in London, Michael Caine filmed the ‘Italian Job’ right in the heart of the hotel, so nostalgic. Royal Lancaster London has hosted a number of events by the royals, old and new, and the chosen after-party venue for The Beatles ‘ Yellow Submarine’ film premiere. What’s not to love about this fine 5 star treasure.

Royal Lancaster London has a chilled and relaxed feel, perfect to escape with friends or your loved one in the heart of London, a stone throw from the major shopping districts, and the perfect choice for my Connaught Village experience.  The hotel has a calming yet luxurious ambience and the elegant Hyde Bar named after London’s most famous park is beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. Hyde Bar offers Champagne, cocktails, coffee and light bites, which are served throughout the day.

The Thai owner Jatuporn Sihanatkathakul is evident throughout the new renovation with the beautiful painting of trees, teal furnishing and rose gold accents. The redesign of Nipa Thai, the hotel’s award winning restaurant is testimony of the Thai influence.

We were warmly greeted upon arrival they were expecting us! Guest liaison told us we were booked into an executive suite on- 17th floor amazing! The allocated room was simply stunning, cream, browns and white comfortable and spacious with a large seating area. The bathroom took my breath away, luxurious marble with a waterfall style shower and my favourite ‘white company toiletries and a sumptuous King size bed. The room provided all the standard features you expect from a hotel of 5 star standard, but nothing prepares you for the view it was stunning, you literally can see the London skyline in all its grandeur, I even spotted the famous ‘Shard’ in the distance. Royal Lancaster London is the perfect location whilst in Central London, to explore and to be treated to truly charming hospitality and top-level quality.

Two interesting facts!  One – Royal Lancaster London is also big on sustainability, the Island Grill in the hotel serves modern, locally sourced British dishes with a focus on sustainability. The restaurant won the Sustainable Restaurant Award 2015.  Two – Throughout the hotel you will notice that the carpets have hexagons designs these represent Royal Lancaster London installing beehives on its roof, amazing!

Dinner at Casa Malevo

A rustic Argentinean restaurant located in the heart of Connaught Village, Central London. Casa Malevo offers authentic Cocina Argentina, serving popular dishes from the different regions of the country. We were greeted by the host for the night and given recommendations for food and wine. The entire wine list from Argentina too, perfect for pairing with the restaurants speciality prime quality beef. We had worked up an appetite during the day exploring Connaught Village, and we were excited to check out the menu.

To open our appetite we chose Campari, shaken with fresh lime, lemon, orange and sprite, refreshing and light. We chose our starters; Buffalo mozzarella, tomato and avocado purée salad, Lamb sweetbreads with grilled mushrooms and pea puree, tasty and tender. To accompany the main we were recommended Luigi Bosca 14% Mendoza Lujan de Cuyo wine, it was fruity and light and worked really well with the steak. Mains; Bife Ancho 300gr Rib eye steak served with Chips and two fried eggs, surprisingly we didn’t feel really full. There was room for my favourite dish- desert! Polenta cake with orange marmalade and almonds moist and not too sweet, lemon tart and Italian meringue, which literally melted in the mouth and sent my taste buds into a frenzy!

The conclusion

The Connaught Village shopping experience was both luxurious and exclusive I felt very special strolling around the shopping quarter. Connaught Village is the perfect destination for your Christmas Shopping and future needs. The stay at Royal Lancaster London was relaxing and luxurious and as expected first class, it should be your first choice for your stay-cation; luxury breaks with family and friends and loved ones.

The Casa Malevo was authentic and reminiscent of Argentina, rustic and warm with a great atmosphere, attentive and knowledgeable hosts and food cooked to perfection.

P.O.T.U.S began as an abbreviation used by telegraph operators in the 1890’s, it stands for President of the United States. The restaurant POTUS truly believes the best connection between people always happens around a table with food and drinks.

POTUS offers a range of cocktails inspired by former US presidents you can sip on the favoured cocktails of the country’s greatest leaders of the free world, from a Mojito paying homage to Teddy Roosevelt to JFK’s go-to-the Bloody Mary. Pablo Peñalosa Najera, former executive chef at Latin American restaurant MNKY HSE in Mayfair, is tasked with the job to look after the POTUS bar and restaurant. Pablo Najera is committed to using sustainable supplies wherever possible, with the very best seasonal ingredients. Included within the menu are many of Pablo’s favourite dishes, with very familiar sounding names. Some of the recipes have been passed down or discovered whilst travelling, and all have been perfected from personal experience and expertise in the kitchen.

POTUS also serves up the most amazing mouth-watering selection of dishes. Delighted guests can savour US-inspired dishes, San Francisco Cioppino; spiced lobster broth, sea bream, scallop and clams; whole lobster mac & cheese; macaroni pie, parmesan cheese cream sauce and a for the real steak lovers and grilled to perfection, chimichurri cowboy steak with country side potatoes. The POTUS menu will change seasonally to incorporate dishes from across America, including classic from “Big Easy” New Orleans dessert, bananas foster.

My POTUS restaurant and Bar experience

POTUS is set within the beautiful Crown Plaza London – Albert Embankment and the moment you walk in you are captivated by its elegance and luxurious décor. POTUS bar area has polished floors, a beautiful grand oval shaped bar with a cut glass top, packed to the brim with bottles of all shapes and sizes, ready to be shaken and stirred. Beyond the bar is a stylish waterfall feature embedded within the walls, tranquil and hypnotic.

Our waiter guided us to another seated area; the black and white pictures depicting the nobility and ladies of time marvelled us. The mahogany wood polished floor provides a sense of calm and a connection with nature. The air was filled with chilled Jazz music reminiscent of the New York Jazz bar scene. The luxurious leather chairs and low lighting, created an intimate, yet radiant atmosphere. The magnificent and luxurious gold drop chandelier perfectly placed in the centre of the room, was stunning but non-intrusive. It was a cold night, so it was so welcoming to feel the warmth that radiated from an open glass fireplace enclosed in a copper grill case, the mood was truly set.

The host assisted me with the choices on the American-themed menu explaining them all in detail. The waiter didn’t waste a moment and brought us a chilled glass of their finest prosecco. The waiter opened our appetite and served the most delicious seeded and plain warm bread, we were struck by the delightful flavour of the butter, it was delicious. The appetizer choice was BBQ pork belly; Bromley apple sauce, bourbon caramelised apples, it literally melted in our mouths so delicious, Fried soft shell crab; POTUS’ buffalo sauce, buttermilk blue cheese dressing, flavoursome and appetising. The main choices were; Roasted rack of lamb, wild mushroom grits, toasted hazelnut, lamb jus, OMG it was heavenly cooked to perfection. Cajun chicken; Potus’ dry Cajun rub, sweet potato puree, baby onions and jus gras. The side choices were; tender stem broccoli, sweet potato mash and crispy baked zucchini fries.

The silence around the table was a clear indication of how much were enjoying the experience; every single dish was very tasty. The desserts- the chef had already impressed us with the appetizer and bowled us over with the mains but the desserts blew us away! We chose NY baked cheesecake; fresh raspberries, eggnog ice cream, beautifully presented and sent my taste buds on a high. Bananas Foster; banana sponge caramelized in rum and brown sugar, crumble, coconut ice cream, total heaven.

We asked to send our compliments to the Chef Pablo Peñalosa Najera, we told him the whole dining experience was 100% impressive. We had such a great night, impeccable service, great ambience, jazz entertainment and lastly the most impressive serving of food. To end the night they put together the most amazing signature cocktail…you guessed it fit for the P.O.T.U.S we both felt we had been treated like POTUS.

This is definitely worth a visit; it will be without question an all American experience that will leave a positive memorable mark.

Seven Dials has been around since 1960s the MP Thomas Neale devised the idea “Seven Dials” in order to maximise the number of houses that could be built to make profit. Neale wanted Seven Dials to attract affluent residents careful naming the seven streets accordingly.

The Sundial Pillar is the centrepiece which connects Seven Dials originally designed and constructed in 1693-4, it still stands today marking what Neale’s vision was to establish Seven Dials as the most fashionable address in London, he would be delighted to see the amazing transformation of what we know and love “Seven Dials”.

Where do I start it! If you are anything like me I need a hint of adventure…unpredictability. Seven Dials has it all something for all taste buds; whether you fancy breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. The fashionable or first time to London, if you want to experience quality household British brands and get away from the bustle of central London, Seven Dials is a premium choice.

Seven Dials is home to 95 shops, I was surprised considering how compact and distinctly village it felt. There is a shop to suit everyone whether you are looking for a high-profile brand, quintessentially British, boutique style, beauty, grooming salons or a unique concept store alongside luxury hotels and award winning shows that will keep you coming back for more. Shopping paradise; Club Monaco, Cath Kidston, Diesel, Sonos, Knomo, Qllie Quinn, Coco de Mer, Miller Harris and Fred Perry just a tip of the iceberg of what Seven Dials has on offer. Beauty and Grooming at Caudalie, Kiehls, Nail Club, Neal’s Yard and Murdock London.

The great thing about Seven Dials is how much variety is on offer for both shopping and the ultimate dining experience. Caffeine high Monmouth Coffee, experience Paris and step into macaroon heaven at Pierre Hermes Paris. Chick’n’ Sours is perfect for a feast, they serve giant K-Pop burgers my mouth watered at the mere thought. Seven Dials is home to one of London’s finest steak restaurants Hawksmoor. Monmouth Kitchen, named after one of the streets in Seven Dials is known for its hip high-end Peruvian and Italian dishes, a perfect place for a pre-theatre dinner, considering there are theatres in this hidden hideaway, this would be a great choice.

Calling all my foodies, to literally be taken to food heaven, check out Neal’s Yard. The petite courtyard all-snug between Monmouth Street and Shorts Gardens is the place where you can lose yourself, savouring what’s on the menus from morning through to night. I haven’t forgotten my chocoholics or if you are stuck on what to get a friend or loved one for a gift, check out Rococo Chocolates their packaging is too good to waste so beautiful it’s a shame you have to eat them.

Seven Dials experience

Stepping out of an Uber on a fine Saturday afternoon was the perfect backdrop for my over night stay at Seven Dials. Booked into the elegant boutique Radisson Blu Edwardian Mercer Street Hotel, I knew I was in for a treat. I had walked through Seven Dials before but to be honest this was the first time I really appreciated my surrounding. I stood right in front of the pillar and proceeded to count the roads off the pillar- just to check that they were indeed seven streets.

The Radisson Blu Edwardian Mercer Street is home to Monmouth Kitchen that offers a contemporary selection of Italian and Peruvian small plates complemented with the finest wines and their signature cocktails.

We were warmly greeted upon arrival they were expecting us! Guest liaison told us we were booked into a suite on the top floor- 7th floor amazing! The allocated room was simply stunning, when the door opened their was a long corridor, the first room to the right was the bathroom a good size with a double waterfall style shower, can’t wait to try that out! To the left was a walk in style closet, a women’s dream! At the end of the corridor was the main room with three sections; an office space as you enter the room, a huge bed with drapes that was decorated with roses and features so beautiful. The far end of the room was a sofa, table and flat screen television perfect for relaxing. Now the view was stunning, our room overlooked Seven Dials I could see the theatre and the famous London Eye. Ready to explore we headed out.

Exploring Seven Dials

There is so much to see and do in Seven Dials; cobbled streets give the area such an historic feel but yet due to the concept shops, a modernism. We walked up and down all the seven streets in Seven Dials and popped into the stores, which were of interest; makeup, perfume, ready to wear, electronics and jewellery always get me excited. First stop; Club Monaco those dresses, perfumer Miller Harris has always been a favourite of mine the fragrance ‘silent rose’ in particular, smells like heaven. Caudalie their rose water is so good for your skin, picked up a blusher in Benefit, it was hard to pull me away from the Sonos store I love music, Sonos is the wireless home sound system that fills as many rooms as you want with great sounding music and last stop was Coco de Mer luxury lingerie with a hit of naughty. We walked around for at least an hour in out of stores and window-shopping admiring the shop displays. It’s so intriguing as you walk down a small alleyway you discover yet another boutique or concept stores. All the walking worked up an appetite next stop Tredwells.

Dinner at Tredwells

A Marcus Wareing restaurant and winner of AA’s London Restaurant of the Year, Tredwells delivers the very best in British seasonal produce developed by Chef Patron, Chantelle Nicholson rooted in London, globally inspired, located in the heart of Covent Garden is a premium restaurant in Seven Dials. Two bar areas and set over three floors.

We were greeted by the host for the night and given recommendations for food and wine. Tredwells offer a nice selection of interesting cocktails and wines. We had worked up an appetite during the day exploring Seven Dials, so was eager to order.

We was served customary bread and butter and olives and whilst opening our palette decided on our food selection. We chose our starters; Season Corn Mousse, cornbread and pickled mushrooms this was light, crunchy and flavoursome. Chargrilled Prawns, labneh, mint and cumin they were succulent and seasoned perfectly. Mains; Gloucestershire lamb rack, chickpea, harissa, watercress and creme fraiche tender and tasty, Chargrilled Sea bass kupros dairy fettle, tomato and basil this was light but filling. The sides were truffle macaroni cheese so tasty, triple cooked chips with hollandaise mousse and Cornish new potatoes Parmesan aioli these were all exquisite. We shared our desserts Strawberries with mascarpone Thai basil herb and marinated Pineapple, Passion Fruit, coconut and Meringue our taste buds didn’t know what hit them all the right textures and flavours.

The conclusion

The Tredwells experience was as expected first class. Art Deco feel great atmosphere, attentive and knowledgeable staff and food cooked to perfection.
